Streets and Spires selected

So excited that one of my favourite paintings has been selected for the Broadway Arts Festival https://broadwayartsfestival.com/ . The exhibition starts with the preview on the 6th October and ends on 13th October.

Streets and Spires is inspired by the streets and spires of the UK’s cathedral cities. Of course I live just up the road from Lichfield in Staffordshire. Quite a few of my recent paintings are about cities like Lichfield https://www.visitlichfield.co.uk/ .

Back at home, I’m busy finishing and planning for my solo show ‘Two Faces of Optimism’ at the Brewhouse http://www.brewhouse.co.uk/ in Burton. I’m in the process of completing three large contemporary floral pieces; such fun, so many hours work, such a lot of paint!

Once my solo exhibition – 11th October – 11th November – is over, I’m going to get back to some reading and some sketching. I’ve just ordered a book on Ivon Hitchens https://pallantbookshop.com/product/ivon-hitchens-space-through-colour/ and another on vision and design by Roger Fry https://www.wob.com/en-gb/books/roger-fry/vision-and-design/for some winter reading. I’ve got some catch up to do on Anita Reynolds Abstracted Landscape online course http://www.anitareynolds.com/abstracting-the-landscape as well as some challenges I set myself at the end of the Norfolk Painting School Diploma https://www.norfolkpaintingschoollive.com/diploma – further exploration of cubism/neocubism awaits.
