Edale

Painting looking towards Edale in Derbyshire inspired by Cezanne.

I’m a keen walker and explorer of natural spaces. One of my much loved destinations is the Dark Peak in Derbyshire. Edale, Mam Tor and the area around Castleton are constant sources of inspiration.  I’ve always loved and been inspired by Impressionist and Post Impressionist artists such as Cezanne, Van Gogh and Matisse. Cezanne’s depiction of light and his palette choices were in my mind and informed some of my choices when constructing this artwork.
