My interest in the geology of places in the natural world is showing in recent works of Hay Bluff and Cumbria. I’m currently working on previous studies of the Roaches, where unusual rocky outcrops dominate the landscape.
Lockdown has given me time to diversify in terms of media used in my paintings. One of my Hay Bluff series is enhanced by use of wax medium to convey misty surrounds, whilst I have been using mixes of alkyd and linseed oil to convey luminosity and light.
