Busy month ahead

I am just finishing all preparation for the Landmark Art Fair in Teddington South West London next weekend. The catalogue has been released. All exhibitors are selected and the standard of art work is clearly high. Really looking forward to chatting to visitors and exhibitors.

I am also busy finalising work for my exhibition in Lichfield Staffordshire the following weekend – 23rd and 24th October at the Curborough Centre. Two exhibitions on two consecutive weekends equals pretty hectic.

I have been experimenting with using translucent oil paint and am pleased with the results on one of my Staithes series paintings. My preference is to use more opaque paint, but artists like Schiele did use oil paint thinly in his city scapes of Krumau.

Finally worth mentioning the Paula Rego exhibition at the Tate which I went to a few weeks ago. Her work and life is so interesting on many levels. Well worth visiting …
