Lots of balls to juggle.

It’s that time of year when everyone has lots of balls to juggle. For me I start to plan for the new year. However I’m also finishing off some pieces for Banks Mill Open Studios on 22nd – 24th November in Derby. I’m exhibiting alongside over 40 creatives – it’s a really exciting event. At the same time I’ve been working on some new pieces for a series of work that I’m hope in to complete in the New Year. They are all pieces about things that matter to me – feelings, care, oppresssed people, inequality, diversity, division and polarisation … I could go on!

Really excited to see that Derbyshire Open Arts have elected a new chair. I got to know Pete Singer the outgoing chair a bit over the past couple of years – he did a fabulous job and was an absolute great model re chairing meetings! Thank you Pete. I’ve painted a series of Derbyshire landscapes this year to celebrate all that is wonderful about the county! Here it is one of my most recent landscapes here …

So next year! Yes once again I’ve got lots of balls to juggle. I’m painting some new work – agenda item number one! Number two – I’m trying to get my work seen by more people! I’ve signed up to exhibit at Art Surrey in March next year – I think it looks a great event with over 100 exhibitors. Number three – I’m trying to be looser in my work as well as trying to paint more about things close to my heart. Number four – I want to keep growing as an artist and I’m going to access some of the new developmental options being offered by Martin Kinnear at the Norfolk Painting School. I’ve got more things to think about of course … not enough time .

And I’ve not mentioned Christmas! I’ve a cake to get cooked … cards to start writing. Ok apart form the cake .. I don’t get sorted until much much later!
