Wow the sun was out this morning and some daffodils are out in the garden! Suddenly I am looking at my new work more favourably – what a difference sunshine can make. I’ve had a really busy month, working on interiors, floral paintings and landscapes of Andalusia and Derbyshire and I’ve been trying out some new media, oil pastels, inks and oil pens. It’s such an exciting journey and I’m not usually lost for creative ideas.
Here’s a flavour of some of the new pieces I’m working on. Some will probably be sketchs for larger work, the floral piece a smaller original painting.
I’m planning to get walking in Derbyshire when it’s dry and do some sketches around Bonsall and Ashbourne and see what I can create for the Bonsall Arts Trail and Artbourne in Ashbourne. I have also just found a sketch I did of Timoleague in County Cork a couple of years ago. Beautiful place and what an eaterie, full of quirky things and decor. I might work up the painting. I’d recommend a visit.
